It comes in a very interesting case; this was a private purchase post war during the 1920’s. these very nice quality cases were sold at jewellers for veterans to keep their iron cross safe and free from damage.
It is covered in grey leather and it is printed on the front with an image of the iron cross and ‘Dank Des Vaterlandes’ ‘Thanks to the Fatherland’. Inside it is covered with grey silk velvet and grey silk, the top part is also printed with ‘In the Memory of Germany’s Great War.
