WW2 German Military ID Book Rudolf Schutt KIA
WW2 Wehrpak for Rudolf Schutt. Born 1st June 1914 of Georg and Elizabth Schutt. Before the war he was employed as a blacksmith, but this could also mean metal worker. He volunteered for military service on 15th August 1934 and during the war he first served as Obergefreiter with the 36-field infantry regiment to 6th January 1940 seeing action in France and Belgium. He was then transferred to the 13th Field Regiment coy 528 infantry regiment. The 528th Infantry Regiment was one of three infantry regiments (528th, 529th, and 530th) that formed the 299th Infantry Division. He was one of the early casualties during operation Barbarossa on the eastern front, which was launched on the 22nd June 1941. He was caught up and killed in the battle for Kiev, 7th July to 26th September 1941in Northwest Zwiahel northern Ukraine. Sadly, Rudolf was killed in action on 16th July 1941and he is remembered in the cemetery Southwest of the city.
This book is in excellent condition with original photograph intact and with more information to glean, I’m sure.
