A wonderful lot comprising of the WW2 Defence medal, 1939-45 war medal and the QEII crown Territorial Officers decoration dated 1961, Queen’s Coronation medal. Territorial Army badge, plus original badges and insignia. Officers WW2 release book, pay book, commission scroll original documents and a pile of original photographs.
Edna Agnes Baker was born in East Ham London on 24th September 1921. She enlisted into the Auxiliary Territorial Service on the 9th September 1941; before the war she was employed as a shorthand typist. She rose through the ranks during the war with an unblemished record making CSM in September 1942. She got to the rank of Subaltern (Lieutenant) when the ATS was disbanded in 1949 when she was commissioned into the Woman’s Royal Army Corps as Lieutenant. she was awarded her territorial badge in 1950 and she had a place in stand 48 at Queen Elizabeth II coronation in 1953. She left the WRAC in the 1960’s at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel of the Women’s Royal Army Corps.
