Vintage Chinese Jian Sword.

A nice quality Chinese Jian with broad wooden grip with a crosshatch design with integral pommel. A cast brass guard decorated with Chinese characters. The guard is a little loose due to some shrinkage of the wooden grip. A good long broad steel blade with geometric engraved and inlayed decoration; this is coated with a layer of old grease. It has a highly decorative wooden scabbard carved with Chinese symbols, dragon and a bird with long tail feathers, the wood stained in a dark red colour. This type of decorative sword was usually made for sword training or the martial art Wushu, a style of Kung Fu. It measures 33 inches long.
