WW1 OBE Medal Group to Reverend Hornabrook.

1914/15 star, British war and Victory medal correctly named to Rev. J. O. Hornabroke A.C.D. OBE first type by Garrard & Co Hallmarked for London 1919 and in case of issue. WW2 1939/45 star, Defence and 1939/45 war medal in named and addressed box of issue.
John Oliver Hornabrook was born on 5th November 1879 in Southport Lancashire. His father also John was a Wesleyan preacher who was born and ministered near mount Kitchener Jamaica. John Oliver was well educated and became a Wesleyan minister in Durham and when war broke out, he answered the call. At first, he was made Reverand 4th class with the Army Chaplains Department from December 1914 attached to the Kings Own Scottish Borderers accompanying them to Gallipoli and then he went on to serve in Salonica. Later he was made captain and in 1919 he was made temporary chaplain to the Fleet Royal Navy, a position he held until 1947. Serving at home during World War two. He was awarded the Order of the British Empire in the Kings birthday honours list of 1919 for his service to the army chaplains department during the war and his humanitarian service in Salonica.
He married Mary Elizabeth Cocking known as Beta in 1907 and she became a liberal reformer serving as a member of parliament for a district in Birmingham.
All medals are in very good order. The WW1 trio are mounted on a brooch bar on their original ribbons as worn. The OBE still in case of issue has been worn but very good order. WW2 medals mint and still in box of issue with ribbons, unworn. This group comes with a quantity of research and copied paperwork, too much to list.
