The Neville Lloyd R A Medallion – Named.
A very heavy solid silver medallion instituted by John Pinches London and issued after the death of Colonel Neville Lloyd Walford Royal Artillery 1844 – 1901. It was issued to officers of the Royal Artillery in limited numbers triennially from 1905 for most valuable work in connection with foreign service. This one is named to Lieutenant C.O.C. Hunt RFA 1908.
This is Cyril Owen Carew Hunt born 1875 who served in the 2nd Anglo Boer war from December 1901 to 9th July 1902 being awarded the Queens South Africa medal with one clasp, Cape Colony and during the first world war he rose to the rank of major and was awarded the 1914 star with clasp and roses, British war and victory medal. He is also listed as an officer in the home counties divisional artillery during WW2, Cyril sadly died in 1957.
An interesting and scarce medallion which needs more research. It is in perfect condition, still in its case off issue and it measures 2 inches in diameter.
