WW1 Infantry Officers Sword by Wilkinson.
A lovely example of the George V 1897 pattern Infantry Officers sword by Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall London.
Typical pierced guard with the crowned cypher of king George V. Ray skin grip bound with silver wire. It has a steel blade etched with elaborate scrollwork with GRV cypher and royal crest. The back of the blade is stamped with the issue number 48276 1914 – 1917, and it comes with its original field brown leather scabbard.
It is in very good condition, with signs of age and ware, but totally untouched. The etching on the blade is still beautiful and clear, but it has some areas of dark staining. It measures 40 inches long, unusually large.
