Traditional Christmas decorations sold to raise money for the Winterhilfswerk or the winter help fund.
Donations were supposedly voluntary, Hitler Youth and Nazi Party members conducted door-to-door and street collections. While donations were supposedly voluntary, Hitler Youth and Nazi Party members conducted door-to-door and street collections. Those who failed to contribute faced severe social pressure and often public shaming. Donors were given small, inexpensive lapel pins or tokens in exchange for their contributions. Because the designs changed frequently, these pins turned into highly sought-after collector items and visible badges of conformity. Here we have a collection of Christmas tree decorations made of wood and hand painted. They are in good used condition and each stands around 2 inches high.
