Victorian Brass Iron Trivet.

A lovely old Victorian solid brass Iron trivet, pierced with a design of a fox and tree. You would put your iron on the fire to heat before ironing your clothes, when iron was hot and not in used it would be put on the trivet, also used to cool down the iron. To think ever house had one. A framed and glazed hand colloured print from around the 1830’s. it is entitled ‘Defeat of the Ashantees – the British forces under the command of Col’l Sutherland July 1824’.
