A superb early Luftwaffe paratrooper badge by Brüder Schneider of Wien, with BSW clover leaf mark on reverse. Constructed of a nickel wreath and a gilded brass eagle, both correct for this maker. A good mid to late war badge awarded to Luftwaffe personnel for achievement in ground combat. This one is by the maker Gustav Brehmer of Markneukirchen, Saxony, marked GB on reverse.
Made from a zinc allow with an all over silver wash, of which some remains, in wonderful original condition with correct pin and catch, measuring just over 1.5 inches wide x 2 inches. read more
