Hallmarked Silver Medallion – S.P.A. Cup Winner 1932-33

This hallmarked silver medallion was given to Lance Corporal S. Horobin who was the winner of the S.P.A cup in 1932-33, I have not been able to find what the spa cup was but obviously a military event. The medallion is clearly marked on the back and measures just under 1.5 long and weighs 11 grams.  read more

WW1 Era Miniature Bayonet Badge – Ostende

A decorative miniature bayonet badge which measures just over two inches long, it is made from a silver plated metal with tiny little wood grips for the handle, the blade is marked ‘Ostende’, it comes in very good with some minor wear to the silver plate on the edges of the blade.  read more

WW1 IV Corps Xmas Post Card.

4th Corps Christmas Card for 1914. The British IV Corps, formed in Oct 1914 under Lt-Gen Sir Henry Rawlinson, served on the Western Front, fighting at the First Battle of Ypres, Neuve Chapelle, and the Somme. This card is in excellent condition and has been written on the back and passed by censor.  read more

Soviet Russian 40th Anniversary of WW2 Medal.

50 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War medal 1941–1945. Established on July the 7th 1993, to mark the 40th anniversary of the 1945 victory over Nazi Germany. It was awarded to military veterans, home front workers, and participants of the Great Patriotic War. Also awarded to Royal Navy personnel who served with the Arctic convoys.

Interesting Post WW1 Postcard – Reverend Lt Colonel Wingfield DSO

Based on this image the Reverend Lieutenant Colonel William E, Wingfield appears to have been a bit of a character, this card shows him dressed as a ‘Punjab soldier in plain clothes’, he appears an older man in this shot and I know from some basic research that he had a young son who died at Gallipoli in 1916 aged just 19 and that he married a lady from Bungay Suffolk which is just down the roa...  read more

Mystery WW1 Era Memorial Death Card – Thomas Frank Fisher

I describe this card as mysterious as despite extensive research I cannot find this man on the Commonwealth war graves web site, the card just doesn’t give enough information about Thomas to find out who he served with and what he may have done, so I will pass it on to you to dig deeper and find out more…..the card is self explanatory and comes in good condition but with signs of age.  read more
